WHY ARE THE ISRAELIS DESTROYING THE PALESTINIAN OLIVE GROVES?
Olive trees have been a fundamental part of Palestinian life for thousands of years and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial.
Income from harvesting, processing and distributing olives provides income to Palestinian families so they can buy food, provide education to their children and provide medical care for their elderly.
In January 2010, the United Nations reported that over 1 million fruit and olive trees had been destroyed in the West Bank by illegal settlers (protected by the Israeli Army) wanting to destroy the rural economy and drive Palestinians off their land.
Under former Ottoman law (which still applies today in parts of the West Bank) any unfarmed land can be seized by the state or occupying power and allocated to anyone they choose, i.e. settlers. This is why they want to stop agriculture there.

It is clearly the intention of the Zionists to push all the Palestinians out of the West Bank in order that they may attain an Eretz (Greater) Israel, extending from the Mediterranean Sea to the border with Jordan, inhabited solely by Jewish people.
